Studio Blokland is not one person. We design from one core idea: connecting people and buildings.
We look beyond form and function alone. Both the user and the environment are decisive, as is the balance between aesthetics, sustainability and feasibility. We approach every project from multiple perspectives: from the individual to society, from today to the future.
Driven by curiosity and the urge to innovate, we challenge ourselves to look differently: to ask questions others don't ask, to explore new possibilities and to develop solutions that truly make an impact.
METHOD
01. ASK
The brief is first translated into concrete design principles. What does the site, the climate, the user require?
02. TEST
Models, 3D renderings and realistic visualizations make choices visible before construction begins.
03. BUILD
Structural knowledge and local buildability are part of the design from the start, not an afterthought.
OUR APPROACH
A plan must not only work as an idea, but also as a drawing a contractor in Paramaribo can build from.
For larger projects we work with trusted structural engineers, installation consultants and contractors. The point of contact remains a single studio.
